Description

Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. This odyssey through the wild is our most coveted event of the year. Are you in?

During this 3 day, 2 night trip, we'll traverse frozen lakes with gear-filled sleds, build hot tents with wood-fired stoves to keep us warm, explore untouched corners of the wilderness and, in the evenings, bask in some of the best night sky viewing on earth.

We can offer this hard-to-find adventure because of the immense skill, experience and dedication of our guides. Their advanced technical, survival and first aid qualifications will keep you safe and having fun throughout this incredible experience.

Other opportunities to do winter camping start around $900+, so this is a rare opportunity to experience a bucket list trip in a cost-effective way.

The trip includes all of the communal equipment and food you'll need for this adventure (snowshoes, sleds, shovels, tents etc). As always, sleeping bags and pads are available to rent at a small additional cost. While snowshoes are included, you are welcome to bring your own. Please be sure to indicate at check-out whether or not you need us to provide you with snowshoes.

Please note that all adventurers must attend the mandatory prep session on January 20th at MEC.

What to Expect on a WU Trip

Is a Wilderness Union Trip Right for You?
We offer a unique alternative to commercial tours. We don't just show you incredible natural wonders, we teach you to become confident in nature so you can discover the life changing magic of the outdoors. You'll love it here if:
- You want to make real friends, not just small talk with strangers
- You prefer "off the beaten path" over "all-inclusive resort"
- You're happy to pitch in and learn new skills (e.g., helping with camp setup or group tasks)
- You value the journey and the company as much as the destination

Who Else Will Be There
WU is aimed at a younger generation of outdoor lovers who don't see themselves represented in traditional hiking clubs and our members are typically 20-40 years old. Whether you're brand new to the outdoors or have plenty of experience, you'll find something for you.

Our Guides
All of our guides are highly qualified, passionate outdoor lovers, just like you. They love to share their knowledge and will help you see our destinations in another light, often teaching you something along the trail.
