Wishing for a new sort of wellness experience? Wilderness Union has created something different, authentic and impactful for you.
This is about leaving our egos and concern for appearances at the door in the pursuit of having real healing experiences that create a lasting positive influence on our minds and bodies.
In this very special adventure, you will be taken out of the over-stimulating churn of the city and brought to a stunning private island at the cusp of Muskoka. Here, you will go on an incredible 4 hour ceremonial journey inspired by Temazcal, an ancient, pre-colonial sauna practice from modern day southern Mexico and parts of Central America.
What to expect:
- Small-group sauna sessions
- An ice bath carved out of the private island’s frozen lake
- A comfortable hot-tent for blissful recovery
- An offering of nourishing food and drinks to sustain your body for each circuit
- A suite of guided mindful exercise
Depending on snow levels, we may be required to use snowshoes or ice spikes to hike in. We have a limited quantity available that you can grab at check-out. Ice spikes are free to borrow and snow shoes can be rented for a small fee.
WU transport is strongly encouraged for this event as we cannot guarantee safe and available parking for you at the location.
Please note that contrast therapy (sauna & ice plunge) is not safe for everyone. We unfortunately cannot accept attendees with the following medical considerations:
- Cardiovascular problems
- Current illness, fever, respiratory infection
- Circulatory disorders (Raynaud’s, peripheral neuropathy)
- Pregnancy
- Recent surgery or open wounds
- Epilepsy or conditions affecting consciousness
- Diabetes with impaired sensation or blood sugar instability
