Calling all Wilderness Union foodies!
This month is all about bold flavours, cooking something a little outside your usual rotation, and coming together over good food. The idea stays the same: each month, we choose a cookbook, everyone cooks a different recipe from it, and then we all bring our dishes to share at a potluck.
For January, we’re diving into the bold, vibrant world of Indian cuisine with Vij’s Indian by Vikram Vij and Meeru Dhalwala. The book brings the flavours of Vij’s iconic Vancouver restaurant into home kitchens, with dishes that are rich, comforting, and full of personality. Expect warming spices, layered sauces, and recipes that feel special without being intimidating.
From fragrant curries and vegetable-forward plates to hearty meat dishes and unexpected flavour combinations, this is a great chance to explore Indian cooking beyond the usual takeout favourites. It is perfect if you want to try new techniques, play with spices, or finally cook that dish you always order but never make yourself.
Whether you’re already a fan of Indian food or curious to learn more, come cook, share, and connect with fellow WU food lovers over a seriously good meal.
This is a no-pressure, beginner-friendly club! There are simple recipes to choose from and easy ingredient swaps if needed.
Please note that this is a member-organized event.
