What the night is

A room full of people who want to spend more time outside.

Wilderness Union exists to help people get out of the city and into nature, with the gear, the plan, and the company sorted. This night is an open door to that world. Come for the stories, stay for the crew.

We are introducing the new Crew Membership, a free way to stay close to what we do.

What to expect

  • A short talk from guest speaker Ann-Marie Brissett on getting started in the outdoors.
  • Stories and photos from members about their first trip, their worst trip, and their favourite trip.
  • Local partners sharing what they are up to this season, and offers for the room.
  • Real food and a drink on us, and time to meet the Wilderness Union crew.

Guest speaker

Ann-Marie Brissett

Outdoor creator and weekend warrior

After almost a decade of competing in powerlifting, Ann-Marie swapped the singlet for hiking boots and her tent, which she affectionately calls her "nylon mansion." Her story with the outdoors didn't begin when she was young, so all of this was brand new to her. Years later, she is sharing her love and her journey through her chuckle filled content.

Ann inspires others to take the leap with her. She's a weekend warrior through and through, and her love for the backcountry isn't complete without a paddle and fishing rod she holds on to year-round. Featured in the book "Tent Life," Ann reminds us that getting outside shouldn't be difficult. It's about doing the damn thing and living in the moment of it all.
