Embark on a 15km hiking journey that takes you through the heart of Scottsdale Farm, Silver Creek, and the Bennett Heritage Trail. As the leaves turn vibrant shades of orange, red, and gold, this autumnal hike promises an authentic communion with nature at its finest. Feel the crunch of leaves underfoot as you traverse serene forest paths and open meadows, absorbing the crisp air that heralds the changing seasons.
We'll begin our hike at Scottsdale Farm, a historic site with rustic charm. Explore its old barns and orchards that are tinged with the colorus of fall. The trail then segues into the dense, wooded areas of Silver Creek, offering a tranquil setting for reflection or a meditative walk.
As we transition into the Bennett Heritage Trail, you'll get a taste of local history. This section features markers and placards detailing the legacy of the land, a perfect complement to the natural beauty that surrounds you. Be prepared for a few moderate ascents here, which reward you with panoramic views of the Ontario landscape awash in autumnal hues.
The trail is well-marked, with moderate terrain suitable for hikers of most skill levels. This is a relatively long hike at 15km but not overly challenging with about 150m of total ascent. You'll want to have a decent level of fitness but needn't be a triathlete to do it - if you have any concerns, just message us!
