Spend the day tubing the Saugeen River and a night relaxing and camping riverside with a group pizza party. Located just 2.5 hrs away, the river flows over 100KM, with many access points in between before spilling into Lake Huron.
The highlight of our trip will be lazily riding tubes on a 1.5-2hr trip down the river back to our campsite. If you don't want to get your feet wet, there are walking trails to explore, one of them taking you to a viewing point looking down onto the Saugeen. Returning to the campsite we'll have a pizza party for dinner!
This is a great tubing river as it doesn't get much foot traffic like others in Southern Ontario. Occasionally, you'll see other families having fun, fishermen on kayaks and a Kingfisher swooping across the waters.
We'll also have a selection of boats to play with when we're at the campsite!
Space is limited to 16 people so you'll want to reserve this adventure quickly.
Self Driving
Please note that we'll have 3 vehicle spots included, there is an additional $10 fee per extra car to be parked.
Meals
Saturday lunch and Sunday breakfast will not be provided. Feel free to pack a meal to eat at the campsite.
Saturday Dinner will be a pizza party (included in trip fee) from a local shop in Hanover, a town that's a 5 min drive away. We'll order food that accommodates dietary restrictions.
Gear Rental
Tubes to float down the river are available for $20 if you don't want to bring your own. Ask for gear rental to have that provided.
You're able to bring your own tents for this adventure but if you need camping gear rental (shared tent, sleeping bag and sleeping bag) that will be an additional $50.
Recommended Items
Closed toed water shoes
Durable inflatable water tube/ring if you want to join for the tubing. A pool floaty will work, but has greater risk of popping.
Other things to note
There are no taps for potable water so we'll purify our own water
Porta potty on site
No showers
Limited accessible data (you'll need to walk up the path to the main road)
Carry in, and carry out all garbage
