Adventure Description

We're going for an overnight front-country camping trip at Bruce Peninsula National Park, one of the most in demand campsites in Canada. The park is completely sold out for '23 already so, if you've wanted to visit - this is your chance!

The Bruce Peninsula is famous for its gorgeous limestone landscapes and crystal clear turquoise water. There's really nowhere else quite like it in Ontario. Nearby is one of Canada's most iconic hikes to the Grotto, a ridiculously pretty natural cave and swimming spot.

We're going for a quick weekend trip as part of our Introduction to Backcountry Camping series. This trip is car-camping so it's an easy way of getting comfortable spending a night outside in a tent. We'll be leaving first thing on Saturday morning to get to Cyprus Lake Campground where we'll set up camp and explore the trails. At night we'll all have dinner together and roast smores over a campfire.

Bruce Peninsula is a Dark Sky Preserve meaning that if the clouds are clear we'll be in for some truly incredible stargazing.

The morning after, we'll hike to The Grotto, those who want to can jump in for a swim. Later that afternoon, we'll head back to Toronto after what should be a completely unforgettable weekend.

This trip is suitable for all members and extremely affordable, starting at just $20+HST for Explorer and Pathfinder members! You have the option of having all meals and equipment provided or bringing your own. Those renting have the option of sharing same-gender tents or going private for an additional $50.

We'll be organizing a social beforehand to meet everyone who's coming and figure out who's sharing with whom!

Space is limited to 18 people so you'll want to reserve this adventure quickly. We've got spots for 12 people in the van for those who need lifts and another 6 people will be able to self drive.

There is no other way of staying at Bruce Peninsula this year other than our soon to be announced backcountry camping trip that has extremely limited space.

Renting Camping Gear

We have 10 full camping kits for rent containing:

  • Backpack
  • Sleeping mat
  • Pillow
  • Sleeping bag
  • Tent
  • Stove+gas
  • Basic cook kit and cutlery

We'll do our best to pair each other up for the tents. If you'd rather go private, already have some of the camping gear or just have any other questions send a message on Discord and we'll figure it out.

Meal Option

Members without serious allergies have the option of having all meals provided. You'll get:

  • 1 x Hot Dinner on Saturday
  • 1 x Cold lunch on Sunday
  • 1 x Hot breakfast on Sunday

You'll still be making some of the provided food individually - that's all part of the learning!

Self Driving

Please note that there may be a small additional fee for parking to be paid at the park
