Trip Overview

We'll be spending 3 days together at Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve. There's lots of flexibility for activities while we're there but we'll be coming together for meals and the weekend will culminate with a party on New Year's Eve.

We've now got 4 different cabins. The guys are all staying in the two open loft log cabins (The Boiler Room and the Sugar Shack), the gals are in the more comfortable Fireplace and Whiskey Jack accommodations and we'll all be eating together in The Boiler Room which is the largest cabin.

Because of the unusually warm December, there won't be snow on the ground and we're likely to more or less have the place to ourselves!

All meals are provided except lunch on the 30th and the 1st - we'll make stops in both directions so you can get something en route. If you'd like to drink, please BYOB!

Adventure Details

There are over 400km of hiking trails that we can explore. Download the official Avenza map in advance which has all of them listed. There's an awesome wolf sanctuary on site that costs from $10 to visit.

Haliburton Forest is also the home of a popular ultra-marathon trail race and is a great spot for trail running. For the runners among us, pack your shoes and we'll hopefully get a trail run in.

You should also download the What3words app - this makes it easy to share and find locations in the unlikely event that you get lost.
